Charlayne Hunter-Gault (born February 27, 1942) is a journalist, civil rights activist and former foreign correspondent for National Public Radio, and the Public Broadcasting Service. In 1961, she and another classmate became the first two African-American students to attend the University of Georgia.
She graduated in 1963.
